Listen to the sound and beauty of nature as we take you down our memory lane of our first visit to Sugei Buloh, Singapore.

There are many Mangroves in the world. Mangrves can be found in are experiencing tropical climate, along sheltered coastal regions and places where rivers constantly deposit clay and silt. An example of their location would be Sundarbans, West Bengal, India and Sugei Buloh Singapore. We were lucky that our School brought us out for a Geography Field Trip to Sugei Buloh.

Most Mangrove Forest can be found between 23.5 degree North and South of the Equator. The Climate (temperature & rainfall) would be from 20 degree celsius to 30 degree celsius. It has a rainfall from 1 000 mm to 2 000 mm.
There are four main species and they are
1. Avicennia 2. Sonneratia

3. Rhizophora
4. Bruguira
The forest is dense and luxuriant with a continuous canopy due to high temperature and rainfall, which is similar to the Tropical Rainforest. It does not allow sunlight to filter through to the ground and thus there is sparse undergrowth.
